Mold can become an issue in your structure for many reasons. The main 2 reasons being water intrusion from a leak or high humidity issue. HHR is here to identify the cause of growth, ensure proper containment of affected area, provide treatment/removal of growth, and implement the tools to prevent future growth. 

A majority of crawl spaces are not engineered properly. They allow humidity levels to become elevated due to intrusion from the outside through vents and through the exposed ground and foundation walls. Aspergillus is the fungus we most commonly find in crawl spaces, and can grow in any part of your home. Maintaining a space at 45% humidity is ideal for limiting the growth of this fungus.

Lack of proper ventilation and insulation can cause condensation to build up on the truss system and sheathing. This heavy saturation is ideal for growth on these affected materials. Stachybotrys is a mold that is commonly found in materials that have been heavily affected with moisture. Addressing the source of the moisture is key to preventing further growth of this mold.
