Crawl Space Encapsulation

Healthy Homes Remediation LLC wants to educate our customers on the fact that a majority of crawl spaces are not engineered properly. They allow humidity levels to become elevated due to intrusion from the outside through vents and through the exposed ground and foundation walls. The process of crawl space encapsulation creates a space that is dry, properly ventilated, and has an acceptable mold count. The service entails the following services; addressing any mold growth in the crawl space (mold remediation / mold removal), removing any insulation between floor joists, applying a mold coating to the subfloor and floor joist system, installing a sump well & pump, sealing off all foundation vents that will not require a vent fan, installing a suitable access door if required, insulating the foundation walls and rim joists, installing a vapor barrier to cover the floor and foundation walls, installing required amount of foundation vent fans, and installing a dehumidifier.

We install a dehumidifier based on the size of your crawl space, to maintain humidity levels at 45%. We use a mounting kit to suspend the unit off the floor and against the bottom of the joist system.  We attach a condensation pump that is run to your sump well.

We install the required amount of vent fans to expel unwanted ground gasses and odors, and to help distribute the dry air of the dehumidifier.
